Looking around the Kodokan

A number of trainees practice at the Kodokan, the birthplace of Judo, every day. Additionally, the Kodokan Judo Museum and Library located in the same building provides visitors with opportunities to study Judo history. Anyone can observe training that is held at the main dojo or visit the Museum and Library. Please feel free to stop by.

The main dojo: Visitors can observe Judo training from spectator seating.

Training time schedule Monday-Friday 16:00-20:00
Saturday 16:00-19:30
Spectator seating 8th floor of the Kodokan International Judo Center
Please take an elevator to go up to the 8th floor.
-Boys and girls class: 16:30-18:00
-Beginner's class and other classes: 18:00-19:30

Kodokan Judo Museum and Library: The museum shows materials on Judo history and on Kano Jigoro Shihan. The closed stack library has a collection of about 5000 Judo related books.
