Special exhibition of the material concerning Mr. Vasili Oshchepkov

Bunkyo Muse Festa 2016, a joint exhibition of museums in Bunkyo Ward, will be held at Bunkyo Civic Center on Thursday, December 15.
Kodokan Judo Museum will specially exhibit a material that shows the initiation pleading of Mr. Vasili Sergevich Oshchepkov who is one of founders of Sambo that is a Russian combat sport.
Mr. Oshchepkov became a disciple of the Kodokan in 1911 and then was promoted to 2nd Dan. A record book of initiation pleading shows his address and signature. Also his unique seal that says "B.O" can be seen on it.
